Voter ID Card Download: Step-by-step Guide & Apply

If you’re voting for the first time this year, you need your Voter ID to vote. If you don’t have it, you can learn how to download your Voter ID card in this article. It also explains how to apply for a Voter ID if you haven’t already.

How to Voter ID Card Download

The Voter ID card is given by the Election Commission of India to all Indian citizens who are 18 years old or older. It’s used as proof of identity and address. So, every Indian citizen needs to have.

The Government of India created an online portal called e-EPIC. It’s like a digital version of the Voter ID card. On this website, voters can download their Voter ID cards or e-EPIC cards as PDF files. You can print out the PDF and even laminate it for durability, or store it securely in Digi Locker, which is a handy way to keep your documents safe.

Step-by-step to Download Your Voter ID Card

Follow the below steps to download your Voter ID Card:

Step 1: Go to the Voters Service Portal. voters.eci.gov.in

Step 2: Go to Services and Click on the e-EPIC download.

Step 3: Sign up first, if you are a first-time user. There will be two options first for Indian residents and second one for Overseas Elector. Choose the slot and fill in your mobile number and email address details. Submit the captcha and continue.

Step 4: Fill in your OTP and provide the details such as your name, email, password, etc.

Step 5: Enter your 10-digit EPIC number in your Voter ID card. The registration will be successful, now you can log in to download your Voter ID card.

Step 6: Now, Log in to the site by entering your mobile number/ Email ID/ EPIC no., enter the Password and captcha, and request OTP.

Step 7: You will get an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP and your Voter ID will appear on your screen, Download it.

How to download the Voter ID through Voter Helpline Mobile application?

You can also get your Voter ID card using the Voter Helpline Mobile app. Follow these steps to download your Voter ID card through the app:

Step 1: Install the Voter Helpline App from the Google play store or apple store.

Step 2: Go to the “Personal Vault” option.

Step 3: Log in yourself by entering your mobile number and password. You will receive an OTP to number.

Step 4: Fill in the OTP and you will be directed to your EPIC details.

Step 5: Now, you will see a download button below, click on that and the e-EPIC card will be downloaded in your smartphone.

How to apply for the Voter ID card?

If you can vote in the 2024 election – meaning you’re 18 years old, an Indian citizen, and have a permanent address – you should vote. To do that, you need a Voter Identification card. If you haven’t applied yet, follow these steps to apply now:

Step 1: Go to Voter Services Portal. Offical Website – voters.eci.gov.in

Step 2: Sign up on the portal. Enter the asked details.

Step 3: Once you will get registered, Log in to the portal.

Step 4: Now, on your left you will see a section with Form heading. Click on “Form 6.”

Step 5: Fill in your details such as name, permanent address, aadhar card details, photograph etc.

Step 6: Submit the application by clicking on the Submit button.

After your application is checked and approved, you’ll get your Voter ID card. You can also check your application status on the same website, on the right side of the homepage under “Track Application Status” in the services section.
