The University Grants Commission (UGC) has shared a list of colleges and universities that can offer courses online and through distance learning ( ODL ). According to their announcement, UGC has permitted around 80 universities to start various online and distance courses.
Some of these universities are Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Dibrugarh University in Assam, Panjab University in Chandigarh, and Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi. The UGC has announced that the final date to join ODL and Online courses is March 31, 2024. Also, colleges must put their students’ details on the UGC website by April 15, 2024.
The UGC also mentioned that it had asked for online forms from colleges that fit the criteria given in Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of the UGC’s rules for ODL and Online courses made in 2020 and the changes made to them, for approval to offer programs through distance learning.
